The GT-R50 is the flagship model of Nissan to mark their 50 years of the GT-R Series. It is a powerful 720 hp engine car with several delightful features in its design. The design elements resemble the NISMO Edition, which was revered as the most powerful of GT-R models, with a 600 hp engine.

The R50 is design to be a bit longer, lower and wider. The roof is lowered by two inches. The front section is reworked to mark it with a floating nose. The ensemble has LED light blades. The wheels are custom designed to be 21 inches. The back has a huge adjustable wing, the diffuser is made of carbon fiber and the nozzle taillights has a retro element. The model is converted to reach newer level of aerodynamics.

The concept car is developed by both Nissan and Italdesign. The latter will commemorate their 50 years anniversary with GT-R50. The model will be built to deliver the performance of a super car. It will be built by the same team that designed NISMO. In R50, NISMO’s engine is being modified. It is fitted with a 3.8-liter version replacing the 3.6-liter twin turbo V-6 engine. The intercoolers, crankshafts, pistons, rods and bearings have the same specs of GT3. It has Brembo breaks, while, running on Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The car is equipped with Bilstein active suspension.

After all these specs and illustrations, Nissan, however is producing this car only as a model. The fine cars are built only to commemorate the anniversaries and it would not hit production, as per the company now. Per Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan’s design head, this version is a “GT-R without limits”. He termed the car as a “rare window” when two big moments intersect; Italdesign reaching 50 years and Nissan’s GT-R Series making its 50 years of engineering marvels.
