A spokesman of the Ministry of Mines said that the weight of the first gem is 9.27 kg, while the weight of the second is 5.103 kg.

In return for these precious gems, the Tanzanian government has paid 7.74 billion Tanzanian shillings to the miner. This amount is equivalent to 33.5 lakh dollars in US dollar and about 25 crore 36 lakh rupees in Indian currency.
The entire program of the cheque given by the government to Saniniu was conducted on TV. On this occasion, Secretary of the Ministry of Mines, Simon Msanjila said that that the two recently discovered gemstones were the largest ones ever to be found since the beginning of mining in Mirerani. According to the report, on this occasion, the President of the country, John Magufuli, congratulated Saniniu Laizer on the phone.
