The Salvator Mundi, a 15th century painting by Leonardo da Vinci fetched $450.3 million to Christie’s in a New York auction. The painting was bought by Prince of Abu Dhabi, for their Department of Culture & Tourism. Now, the painting is on display at the Louvre of Abu Dhabi. Da Vinci created Salvator Mundi for Louis XII of France. It entered England when Henrietta Maria married Charles I of England in 1625. Before auctioning, the painting was exhibited in several places including Hong Kong, London, San Francisco and New York. Before Christie’s acquired it, the painting was with Dimitry Rybolovlev, the Russian Collector.
The Card Player by Paul Cezanne was the most expensive painting until 2017.

In 2011, a painting named ‘The Card Players’ was bought by the royal family of Qatar paying about $260 million. However, the deal might range anywhere between $260 to $300. At this price, this painting is the most expensive of all art works only surpassed by the Salvator Mundi in 2017. This particular painting is one among the series of Card Player paintings by Paul Cezanne. The series comprise of five paintings of varying size, number of players and setting of the game.

It is a 59.60 carat pink diamond which is the largest Flawless and Vivid Pink diamond graded by GIA. With the price tag, it also became the most expensive item ever auctioned in Asia. This pink diamond is now owned by Chow Tai Fook, a rich jeweler. It was cut from a 132.5 carat rough diamond mined by De Beers. It was found in Africa back in 1999. Back in 2010, Sotheby’s sold a Graff Pink diamond of 24.78 carat for $46.2 million.

The buyer is anonymous; it was sold by Paul Pappalardo, the art collector from Connecticut. GTO is among the most coveted collector cars and the most expensive automobile ever sold. Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason also owns a GTO. This car is unique because only 39 units were manufactured. Additionally, these cars are handmade making them unique automobiles. GTO stands for ‘Gran Turismo Omologato’ which means ‘race homologation special’. A GTO with the chassis number 5111 even won the 1963 Tour de France road race.

Apart from these, the watch is made of 163 carats of white and yellow diamonds, making it a 200-carat diamond watch.
