Messi is Now the Owner of the Fastest Ferrari

Lionel Messi, the master football player is in the news for his exit from the game. However, the player was also recently in the news for owing the most expensive Ferrari in the world. The Proto Organization recently auctioned the 1957 Ferrari 335 S Spider Scaglietti in Paris. The bid closed at a whopping price tag of 32 million euros. It was confirmed after much speculation that the buyer was indeed the famous player. According to the auction house, Cristiano Ronaldo was interested in the car, but Messi stole the show. The bidding began at 20 million euros, reaching a record sale of 32 million euros for a car. Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are the considered as arch rivals in the game as well as outside the game as fans continue to argue who is the best among them. In the recent auction, Messi outbid Ronaldo to own the infamous Ferrari.


The Ferrari was driven by Sterling Moss in the Cuban Grand Prix in the year 1958. It was at the top speed of 187 miles per hour in the rally. In the Open Road Endurance Race of Mille Miglia, the car finished in second position. In the Le Mans Racing Circuit, it became the first car to average the speed of 200kph or 124 mph. In 1970, it was brought by Pierre Bardinon, the French collector and racer. It was only after his death in 2012, that the family decided to auction the prized car. The Car was described as the “Top of the Top” by Ferrari Historian Mercel Massini.
